PORT HURON — No Tie Required T-Shirt Co. will be joining downtown in the next week.
Owner Jace Pennington said he and the rest of his team are excited to move into a new location, 326 Superior Mall, that should be open for business by Monday, April 3. Special Tie
Pennington said their current location is isolated and does not have much foot traffic. He said moving downtown will hopefully bring more in-person clientele to the business.
“I want to be a part of the community,” Pennington said. “Right now, we’re tucked away.”
Pennington said No Tie Required T-Shirt Co. is currently located at 3071 Commerce Dr. in Fort Gratiot Township. Over the week of March 27, the business will be closed to allow the team to orchestrate their move. Pennington said apparel orders still will be taken, but there may be a delay in shipping due to the move.
Pennington said he would like to expand the business hours once No Tie Required T-Shirt Co. is resettled. New hours are yet to be determined.
No Tie Required T-Shirt Co. is a custom apparel brand that started in January 2020. The store mostly offers T-shirts and sweatshirts but also prints designs on tumblers. People can come in with their own designs as well as choose from pre-made ones.
“Our motto is you think it, we create it,” Pennington said.
Pennington said he tries to keep a laid-back environment for customers and employees, because he wants to make his business a chill spot for people to work out their own designs.
Pennington started No Tie Required T-Shirt Co. with one print press in his basement. He said, since then, his business has gained immense support in Michigan and beyond.
“I have between 20 and 25 businesses that have been ordering from me since I started in the basement,” Pennington said. “Support has been amazing. I have a very good circle.”
The business' apparel is sold throughout St. Clair County and Detroit. Additionally, orders have been shipped to many other states including Minnesota, Nevada and California.
No Tie Required T-Shirt Co. is moving into the former home of the Papaya Branch Boutique.
