ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) - A St. Albans woman was injured after fire crews say she fell 15 feet down a manhole just after midnight Sunday.
First responders say they believe the manhole cover had been knocked loose by a snowplow, and the woman fell through while walking near her driveway. Manhole Drain Cover
“I’m not sure if the cover was completely broken off or anything. The cover was down in the hole with her, so it must have broken the latch and just twisted and went down with her,” said Chief Bob Cross of St. Albans Town Fire.
First responders were able to remove the woman safely and transport her to the hospital.
